MAINE AUDUBON - BRINGING NATURE HOME

Maine Audubon's Bringing Nature Home, to Maine, is about restoring and rebuilding Maine’s natural biodiversity by planting the native wildflowers, shrubs, and trees that support the widest array of wildlife. In this presentation, Andrew Tufts, Program Manager at Maine Audubon, will discuss the critical value of wildlife-friendly plants to our state, and how we can grow them in our own backyards. Topics will include keystone species, host relationships, and habitat management at home.

Join Maine Audubon's Staff Naturalist, Doug Hithchcox, for a program about bird behavior to learn what birds are doing, and why. From singing to sleeping, and flying to surviving, we'll answer all your questions about our feathered friends.

ADULT SESSION: 
The most proactive way to reduce cases of tick-borne diseases is through awareness & prevention. LymeTV provides free workshops on the dangers of ticks & the diseases they can transmit.  Prevention is key.  Learn how to protect yourself, your family, and your property. This event is FREE! 

YOUTH SESSION:
Children are at the greatest risk for Lyme disease & other tick-borne diseases (with age group 5-9 years old having the highest incidence). LymeTV's Tick JEDI program teaches kids how to prevent a tick bite as a life skill. This fun and interactive program teaches kids how to avoid ticks, check for ticks, & the basics of Lyme disease. Prevention is key!
