"We've been a part of the program since the start. I like the fact that not only are we going out for the ride but we're actually learning to sail. That's something when you're blind you don't get a lot of."
We have collaborated with SailMaine in Portland and Camp Capella in Dedham to offer adaptive sailing! The program offers people of all abilities and ages the opportunity to learn how to sail, seamanship and make new friends!
What to bring:
Join us for a sailing session on beautiful Casco Bay in Portland!
OPENING DAY IS JUNE 8TH!
June - October
-Monday sessions 1p-4p and 4p-7p
-Thursday session 1p-4p
-The cost is $5 per person
Parking at SailMaine
With construction on the waterfront, parking is a bit tricky! The best way to reach SailMaine is by taking Commercial Street to the end where it turns into Thames Street. SailMaine's entrance is at the end of the Amethyst lost, past the old Cat Ferry Terminal building. While there is not a parking lot here, this is great place to drop folks off. There is typically plenty of street parking nearby along Commercial, Hancock, Mountfort, Fore and Waterville Street.
